Bronwyn Green

The Corner of Quirky & Kinky

About a million years ago, I worked in the proofreading department of a large company. One of the of the signs on the wall in the documentation area said: ANY NOUN CAN BE VERBED.

It was pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Today, I’ve proved that adage to be true, because I’ve just Stevie Nicksed the hell out of this tambourine for my niece’s birthday.

Yes, this is what she requested.

  1. When I was a kid (pre-Harry Potter days), I had a magic wand with about as many ribbons attached to the bottom end and a painted-cardboard star at the top. Ribbons are the best! I don’t think my parents would have let me have a tambourine, though, because I was loud enough on my own.

I love this! Ribbons are their own kind of magic. πŸ™‚ LOL about the tambourine – hopefully my brother and SIL don’t resent my gift. πŸ˜€

I love that “Any Noun Can be Verbed”! So cool. And I think it is cool what you did with the tambourine – as long as it isn’t my kid. *grin* She could be loud all by herself too. Still can for that matter.

One of these days (in my spare time) I’m gonna cross stitch the Any Noun Can Be Verbed adage for my office. πŸ˜€

I have more than one adage I want to cross stitch – one of these days. Do you know why “one of these days” never gets here? πŸ˜€

  3. You, this tambourine and verbing are all awesome.

Elena’s comment above reminded me that I also used to have a wand with ribbons on it. It was awesomely swishy and a lot of fun to wave around, which I bet the tambourine is too.

Thanks! πŸ˜€ I’m pleased with how the tambourine turned out, but not as pleased as my niece. The expression on her face made my week. πŸ˜€ I feel like I didn’t have nearly enough ribbons as a kid, though. I should fix that, now. πŸ˜‰
