It’s turning into that kind of week. The kind where I’m starting 37 different things and not really finishing any of them.
I took my mom for surgery Monday. It went fabulously and she’ll be up and around by the weekend-ish. Yay for arthroscopic surgery!
Unfortunately, when I was coming home I fell up my front steps and smashed my wrist, ankle and knee while trying not to let my laptop hit my front steps. Brynn always says it’s not winter until I fall. Well, I managed not to fall at all this winter, so I’m guessing this means that I’ve officially ushered in spring…I hope.
Tuesday was mom’s birthday, so we hung out in the morning, then I had to take Corwin to the orthodontist who slipped while fitting him with a bite plate for his braces and sliced open the roof of his mouth. Sooooooooooo not impressed. He didn’t need stitches or anything, but he’s sore and we have to go back next week to finish the procedure. Grrr.
Today is Corwin’s 12th birthday. I can’t even believe my baby is 12. Seriously, when the hell did that happen??? But that said, I couldn’t be more proud of him. Granted, I’m biased, but I think he’s an amazing kid – wildly creative and talented. He’s also got the gentlest heart – If I’d let him, our house would be overrun by cats, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, ferrets and raccoons. I wouldn’t trade him for the world.
And in writing news – I just contracted a new book with Resplendence! It’s called Handcuffs and Lies and it’ll be coming out on August 4th 2009!
Happy Bday, Corwin!>>Yikes, Bron. You’ve got the falling karma going at your house.
CONGRATULATIONS!! I liked writing for them. You won’t be sorry.>>Happy Birthday Corwin!!!
Happy b-day Corwin!>>Congrats on the contract, and glad your mom is doing well:)>>I think spring is here. My asthma’s driving me NUTS! I sound as if I’ve got terminal lung cancer.
